The Organic Tray by Dawn Sweitzer turns an everyday object into a piece of functional art. Inspired by nature and travel, its hand-painted glass surface combines rich pattern with a subdued palette, framed by the warmth of an oak veneer rim. The 19-inch round format brings pattern, texture and a subtle metallic character to coffee tables, consoles and layered arrangements.

  • Designed by Dawn Sweitzer — Inspired by nature, travel and beauty found in unexpected places.
  • Hand-Painted Glass — An individually crafted surface brings depth and artistry to the design.
  • Oak Veneer Rim — Natural wood adds warmth and tactile contrast to the glass.
  • Versatile Round Format — A 19-inch diameter works beautifully on coffee tables, consoles and ottomans.
  • Functional Art — Rich pattern and subdued tones make the tray decorative even when displayed on its own.
Design Story

Designed by Dawn Sweitzer, the Organic collection draws inspiration from nature, travel and the unexpected beauty found in seemingly ordinary subjects. Familiar forms are reinterpreted through pattern and colour, creating compositions that feel collected and timeless rather than tied to a particular trend.

The design explores contrast: intricate motifs are balanced by muted tones, while the smooth surface of hand-painted glass is surrounded by the natural warmth and texture of an oak veneer rim. The result is decorative without feeling overly ornate.

At 19 inches in diameter, the Organic Tray is large enough to create a defined styling moment while remaining easy to incorporate into an interior. Use it to gather books and objects on a coffee table, introduce a decorative surface to an ottoman or layer it with other trays and accessories for a more collected arrangement.

Frequently asked questions

How can you add pattern to a neutral living room without using bold textiles?

Decorative objects are an easy way to introduce pattern without committing to a strongly patterned rug, sofa or window treatment. The Organic Tray combines detailed motifs with a subdued colour palette, adding visual interest to a neutral coffee table or console while remaining easy to move or restyle as the room evolves.

Are hand-painted glass trays decorative or functional?

They can be both. The Organic Tray is designed as a functional tray while its hand-painted glass surface allows it to work as a decorative object in its own right. It can be used to organize smaller objects, anchor a coffee table arrangement or simply be displayed where its artwork remains visible.

What materials pair well with a decorative glass tray?

Glass pairs naturally with materials such as oak, walnut, stone, linen and other tactile finishes. The Organic Tray incorporates its own oak veneer rim, softening the glass surface and making it particularly easy to incorporate into contemporary, organic modern and eclectic interiors where natural materials are already present.
