Description

The PI Wall-Mounted Desk by Alain van Havre brings the organic character of solid oak to a space-saving home workspace. Designed to celebrate the natural curves, lines and individual character of the wood, its slender wall-mounted form provides a practical surface for a laptop or focused work without the footprint of a traditional desk.

Key Features

  • Space-Saving Workspace — Wall-mounted construction creates a dedicated work surface with a compact footprint.
  • 100% Solid Oak — Natural grain, curves and variations give each desk individual character.
  • Hand-Finished Character — Each PI piece is finished by hand to respect the natural qualities of the wood.
  • Only 19 Inches Deep — A practical solution for laptops and focused work in smaller spaces.
  • Wall-Mounting Hardware Included — Supplied with the hardware required for installation.
Design Story

Designed by Alain van Havre, the PI collection celebrates nature rather than attempting to perfect it. The strength, curves and lines found naturally within the wood are embraced, creating pieces characterized by what Ethnicraft describes as a polished imperfect finish.

Each PI piece is finished by hand, allowing the individual character of the solid oak to remain an important part of the design. Natural variations become features rather than flaws, giving each piece its own distinctive presence.

The PI Wall-Mounted Desk translates this philosophy into a practical workspace designed with smaller interiors in mind. Its shallow 19-inch depth provides enough surface for a laptop and everyday work essentials while occupying considerably less floor space than a conventional freestanding desk.

Crafted from 100% solid oak with a protective varnish finish, the desk combines a warm, tactile material with a visually light wall-mounted design. It is an elegant solution for apartments, bedrooms, multipurpose rooms and other spaces where a dedicated workspace needs to coexist with the rest of the interior.

Frequently asked questions

Is a wall-mounted desk a good solution for a small home office?

A wall-mounted desk can be an excellent alternative to a conventional desk when floor space is limited. The PI Wall-Mounted Desk is only 19 inches deep, providing a useful laptop workspace while maintaining a relatively shallow footprint. It works particularly well in apartments, bedrooms and multipurpose spaces where a full-size office desk may feel too large.

Where can you create a workspace if you don't have a separate home office?

A dedicated workspace can often be incorporated into a bedroom, living area, hallway or other underused section of a home. The PI Wall-Mounted Desk provides a defined work surface without the visual bulk of a traditional freestanding desk, making it easier to integrate a home office into an existing room.

What makes the PI collection's solid oak different from perfectly uniform wood furniture?

The PI collection deliberately celebrates the natural character of wood rather than attempting to make every piece appear identical. Natural lines, curves and variations are incorporated into the design, and each piece is finished by hand. The result is a solid oak desk with an organic, individually distinctive character rather than the uniform appearance of highly standardized furniture.
