Design Story

The PI Sideboard in brushed dark teak by Alain van Havre reflects a deeper, more expressive interpretation of the collection’s nature-led design philosophy. Rather than refining the material into uniformity, the piece follows the natural curves and lines of solid teak, resulting in a silhouette that feels both organic and intentional. This “polished imperfect” approach gives each sideboard its own distinct identity.

Crafted from dark brown-tainted solid teak with a brushed varnish finish, the sideboard highlights the depth and texture of the wood. The brushing process enhances the natural grain, creating a tactile surface with subtle variation and visual contrast. The handle-free, push-to-open doors maintain a clean and uninterrupted façade, allowing the material and form to take centre stage.
