Design Story

Designed by Dawn Sweitzer, the Second Nature collection draws its patterns from the organic shapes, textures and abstract shadows found throughout the natural world. Stacked stones, tree bark and the intricate markings of a turtle’s shell become starting points for compositions that feel expressive without being literal.

The artwork is silk-screen printed onto glass, creating a smooth decorative surface layered within a light oak veneer rim. The contrast between patterned glass and natural wood gives the tray warmth while allowing the artwork to remain the focal point.

The rectangular Valet Tray translates the collection into a particularly versatile scale. Place it on an entryway console to collect keys and small essentials, use it on a dresser for jewellery and accessories, or incorporate it into a coffee table arrangement as a decorative surface for smaller objects.

Available in Large and Extra Large sizes, the Second Nature Valet Tray brings order to everyday objects without feeling purely utilitarian.

Frequently asked questions

What is a valet tray used for?

A valet tray provides a designated place for the smaller objects you use every day. The Second Nature Valet Tray can organize keys and accessories in an entryway, hold jewellery and personal items on a dresser, or gather smaller decorative objects on a coffee table or console.

How can I keep an entryway organized without making it look utilitarian?

Using a decorative tray allows everyday essentials to become part of a styled arrangement rather than visual clutter. The Second Nature Valet Tray combines silk-screen printed glass with a light oak veneer rim, giving keys and smaller objects a defined place while adding pattern and natural warmth to an entryway console.

What's the difference between the Large and Extra Large Second Nature Valet Trays?

The Large Second Nature Valet Tray measures 17 x 9.5 inches and is a versatile size for keys, jewellery and smaller accessories. The Extra Large version measures 21 x 12.5 inches, providing considerably more surface area for larger collections of objects or more substantial coffee table and console arrangements.
